In collaboration with prod\u00c1rt for the project \u201cMXJERES, de Luchas y Goces\u201d – Alejandra Rojas and Mariela Degano – Santa Fe, Argentina.
\nBased on the conviction that we can destroy images, myths and prejudices about women with disabilities. This project is part of a research process that aims to strengthen the empowerment processes of women with disabilities.

About the photo exhibition:<\/strong> In tender, unagitated images, some of which were taken by the protagonists themselves, people have physical contact. These human images speak in various constellations about preferences, desire, fear and the everyday, violent exclusion from social discourses on sexuality – because their bodies are supposedly not supposed to \u201cbelong\u201d.<\/div>\n

The photo exhibition tells an empowering and powerful story of love, sex and closeness beyond the heteronormative, hegemonic narratives of mainstream society about who should (not) have sex, how and with whom. The protagonists of this exhibition are people to whom the socially standardized view usually attests deficits, labels them as \u201cdisabled\u201d and denies them the right to their own sexuality and sex. We meet people who do not want to accept that adults are reduced to bodies without desire.<\/p>\n

The photos follow people in their efforts to break down the stigmas around ableism and sexuality and to set an example for functional diversity of bodies, showing beauty that we are not used to in the sexual realm, perhaps more subtly and with a deep ethical sense. A beauty that different people with physical disabilities bear witness to through their tenacious fight for their personal autonomy.<\/p>\n

The exhibition showed 60 photographs and brought together the work of leading professional and amateur photographers. These included Rox Klijn (NL), Mart\u00edn Toy\u00e9 (ARG), Ngating Wong (DE), Cris Ulla (BRA), Fabi\u00e1n Aimar (DE), Seye Cadmus (NL), Pietro Carbucicchio (NL), Willam van der Voort (NL).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
